Join districts from across Pennsylvania for a one-hour virtual peer-learning session focused on practical, no-cost ways to strengthen residency verification using publicly available data.

This session draws on insights and examples shared by districts across the state — approaches they’ve used to make residency verification more fair, consistent, and repeatable. A fraud prevention specialist from Thomson Reuters CLEAR will help consolidate what districts have found most useful and highlight simple, publicly available tools that can support day-to-day work.

  1. How districts use property tax and deed records to confirm ownership and identify homestead (primary residence) properties
  2. Ways districts locate landlord mailing addresses and spot multi-unit or commercial properties
  3.  How districts approach Zillow, Redfin, and county portals to review property histories and recent transactions
  4. Public datasets districts have found helpful in surfacing address inconsistencies worth reviewing

Topics include:

Participants will also leave with a free data hygiene tip inspired by district examples — a quick way to flag address questions that can yield real savings or better support for families facing housing instability.

Whether you’re new to residency verification or refining existing practices, you’ll come away with ideas directly from your peers to adapt locally.
